ABOUT US
Our Aims:
It is the aim of the CYDS to help students develop good vocal quality and acting skills as well as confidence in expressing their ideas, learn to work in a team, take direction, use their imagination, improve their language and reading skills, and most importantly, develop a love for Speech & Drama.
ABOUT CYDS
The Carlingford Youth Drama School (CYDS) first opened in 1980 and since then it has seen many young people grow into confident speakers, expand their knowledge of literature and develop into fine actors.
Many students have also graduated with a recognised Diploma in Speech and Drama that will be with them for life.
The school caters for both those who enjoy the excitement of acting and performance and those quieter students who need encouragement to speak in front of an audience.
The school in divided into two sections
Junior Section – students up to and including school year 7
